| | Wallpaper Printing | | | Flexographic printing The majority of our wallpapers are printed with a flexographic machine. This particular machine enables us to produce a high standard quality product with the use of fine grade paper and water based inks.
The flexographic wallpaper machine uses high technology laser engravedr rollers. Each colour in the design has its own individual roller onto which the image is engraved. These rollers are produced in the UK by a specialist company, which deals directly with the client.
It is possible to print up to four colours including the background [pad] colour. This translates as a maxximum of three cut rollers per design.
The rollers, suitable for our machinery will give a repeat size of either 53cm or 60cm. The width of the finsihed, trimmed paper is the standard 52cm x 10m. All our paper is from sustainable sources and weighs 150gsm
Once artwork has been approved and engraved we receive the custom made rollers ready for printing. The following process involves colour mixing and printing sample lengths of the design for approval. The client receives these lengths and has the security of knowing that production does not take place until they are confident to proceed.
One of the benefits of choosing The Art of Wallpaper is our unique service of offering short print runs of 15 roll minimum order on less complex designs. All other designs are 60 roll minimum.
We are passionate what we do and as designers ourselves we understand the process from both the creative and manufacturing perspective. We assist in all aspects of the process, requiring the client to have little or no expertise to start their own wallpaper range.
