belynda sharples

Designer and painter Belynda Sharples first produced a collection of wallpaper designs for The Art of Wallpaper in 2005. Since then further designs have been added to the portfolio and include Countryside Toile, a design featuring a cow in pastoral setting and Chickens; both designs capture the spirit of the countryside in a quirky hand drawn style that has universal appeal.

Belynda's designs have emerged from a lifetime of drawing and observing the everyday. Commonplace objects and situations are lifted from sketchbooks and carefully placed to create patterns, that have natural balance and style. The designs neither reference the historical nor rely upon ideas generated by computers, and therefore, a distinctly individual flavor is created by the drawn line.

This year has seen Belynda exhibiting her paintings for the first time, with a successful exhibition in North Norfolk. www.belyndasharples.com

Some of these paintings have now been produced as greetings cards are are available through our store.

Adding to The Art of Wallpaper's collection of designs, Belynda has collaborated with Bernard Thorp on re-colouring some of Bernard's favourite designs.

Two new designs will be launched later this year.
